We are aware of scammers out there pretending to represent Younity and reaching out to job seekers through SMS, messaging apps like WhatsApp and social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. We want to make sure you are aware of these types of scams so that you can stay safe while searching for jobs. Your online protection is our priority.
Younity will never ask candidates for any form of payment or demand money in exchange for interviews with us, or our clients. Nor will we provide an unsolicited job offer without going through a genuine interview process with a client.
All email correspondence from a Younity consultant will be sent from our official email domain: name@younity.co.nz.
Always verify the legitimacy of job offers and report any suspicious activity – stay vigilant and protect your personal information at all costs.
Be alert to common red flags that indicate a job offer is a scam:
- Any request to transfer money
- Communication moves quickly, mostly on an instant messenger service
- Vague job description or details
- Requests for personal information
- “Too good to be true” salary and benefits
If you suspect you’ve been the victim of such a scam, or a recruiter who has contacted you is a scammer:
- Cut all contact with the scammer.
- If you have transferred any money contact your bank immediately.
- Report to CERT NZ (cert.govt.nz) and the police.
