Our Communities.

Younity is well respected in the IT recruitment industry, adopting best practices, continuously improving & advocating for change.  We also give back, supporting our communities through our charity work & sponsorship of events. We believe in doing what we can to help our country towards becoming more sustainable, equitable & successful.

RCSA New Zealand

The Recruitment, Consulting & Staffing Association (RCSA) is the premier body for the recruitment industry across Australia and New Zealand. They exist to drive continuous improvement in recruitment practices, promote ongoing learning & development opportunities and set the benchmark for industry professional standards.

All members of the RCSA are bound by their comprehensive “Code of Professional Conduct” that defines operational standards for members and is underpinned by detailed dispute resolution procedures. Younity are proud to be a member of the RCSA, with all of our staff committed to upholding the code of professional conduct and fully supporting their work.

Diversity Works NZ

Diversity Works NZ is New Zealand’s national body for workplace diversity and inclusion. Formerly the EEO Trust, they exist to help organisations embrace all aspects of diversity and inclusion, becoming stronger and more successful through positive action. Younity joins 400 other organisations working to build more inclusive workplaces all around New Zealand.

We are proud to be a member of Diversity Works NZ and fully support the belief that organisations who embrace diversity will ultimately gain social, economic and productivity benefits. We are one people, working together, no matter what your ethnicity, gender, disability status or sexual preference.

Duffy Books in Homes

Duffy Books in Homes is a charity that Younity actively supports. Duffy have been changing lives for the last 25 years, providing over 12 million books to kiwi children through partnerships with NZ businesses and lower decile schools. Their philosophy is that “It’s cool to read, and it’s cool to achieve!”, and they aim to provide books and a love of reading to kiwi kids who would not normally have that access or opportunity.

This is a cause that means a lot to us and forms a key part of our sustainability programme. We are committed to doing our bit to create meaningful outcomes for our communities, and Duffy Books in Homes provides a great way we can do this.

Sustainable Coastlines

Younity is dedicated to sustainability in all its forms and passionate about ensuring that our unique environment is cared for. We want to keep playing our part in keeping New Zealand clean and green for generations to come. This commitment aligns with one of our core values – to give back to our community – creating a better place for us all.

We’ve partnered with Sustainable Coastlines, with both our Auckland and Wellington teams participating in the Litter Intelligence programme. We do this when we have our beach clean-up days (four times a year), taking significant time out of the office to contribute to the fight against rubbish and waste on our beaches and waterways.

Gumboot Friday

At Younity we want to make a difference to our next generation. Our kids are in crisis and the need for mental health support is at an all time high. This is why we are a proud supporter of Gumboot Friday, which gives young Kiwis, our precious rangatahi, free and fast access to qualified counselling.

This service relies on the continued generosity of many New Zealanders and does a mammoth job to help our kids get access to free and professional mental health support. Every year we support Gumboot Friday with funding and we want to urge others to please join this cause. Every little bit helps.

The Good Registry

At Younity we believe in meaningful, positive experiences underlined by giving back, making a real impact, and doing it in a sustainable way. There are so many worthy charities out there that we could support, and as a company we focus our charity and sponsorship budget on causes that help build our community, grow our future tech talent, and help us look after our planet.

We also want to give our team the opportunity to support charities that they are passionate about and this is why we partner with The Good Registry to give our staff charity gift cards over Christmas.

With the Good Registry our team can personalise their giving and support causes they are passionate about, and it ties in with our sustainable giving ethos.

Auckland City Mission

The Auckland City Mission has supported people in need from all walks of life for 100 years and is one of the city’s most influential social service providers. None of their clients’ stories are the same and the people who come to the Mission for help come for many different reasons.

Some are isolated elderly, others are rough sleepers or people living in cars and inappropriate housing. Others are battling addictions, living with mental health issues, or struggling to feed their families over a period of unexpected crisis.

Younity is proud to be a supporter of the Auckland City Mission donating time and money to help those less fortunate in our community.

The Wellington City Mission is a charitable trust affiliated to the Anglican Church. They have been helping those most in need in the Wellington region for 116 years and are open to anyone who needs assistance, regardless of their religious belief, age, ethnicity or social background!

They provide transitional housing, rest home and hospital-level residential care. They welcome those in need into their community lounge and provide food parcels, budget advice, financial mentoring, and support and advocacy.

Younity is proud to be a supporter of the Wellington City Mission donating time and money to help those less fortunate in our community.

New Zealand CIO Awards

Younity is a proud sponsor of the ‘Sustainability through Technology’ Award at the New Zealand CIO Awards, part of the CIO Summit.  This award honours the achievements of organisations that have successfully planned and executed sustainability initiatives through the use of technology. The initiative or project could address any or all of the three pillars of sustainability, being economic, environmental or social.

We are excited to associate Younity with this award, given our passion and desire to solve local and global sustainability issues. This is one of the most keenly anticipated awards of the event and always we look forward to presenting this award to the winner.

Code Camp Wellington

Younity is a long time sponsor of Code Camp Wellington, an event where Wellington’s finest new coding talent and some of New Zealand’s best technical speakers come together for a day of learning, sharing, networking and technical growth. This is a volunteer led technical “unconference” organised for the benefit of the local technology community with something for everyone, from the latest technologies to career development and everything in between.

Younity are delighted to continue our ongoing partnership with this great event in 2020 and invest in the next generation of developers. Our help keeps this event completely free of charge for the benefit of the wider community.

Digital Future Aotearoa - Code Clubs

In 2023 Younity started to partner with Digital Future Aotearoa to sponsor six of their Code Clubs in priority areas across New Zealand, reaching more than 140 kids each week, teaching them to code. Code Clubs offer free learning sessions to kids aged 9-13, where volunteers teach tamariki coding skills, web development, and robotics (to name a few) in a fun and engaging way. The Clubs are either run from a local library or a school, with volunteers from the tech sector giving up one hour a week to help kids learn to code.

At Younity we work to make a difference to our IT industry, and our next generation. There are lots of ways to get involved or support this important mahi – get in touch and help us to make a difference to the future of New Zealand.
