Sustainability

Sustainability initiatives

Sustainability and being mindful of our environmental footprint is something we live and breathe at Younity.

Below are some of the highlights of how we advocate for a more sustainable future.

Beach clean-ups

Every year our Auckland and Wellington team will take an afternoon off,  put on some comfortable clothes, protective gloves and sunscreen and head over to a local beach to do a beach clean-up.

If possible, we work with local volunteer groups such as Sustainable Coastlines to assist in their environmental programmes.

Zero Carbon certified

We aim to run a sustainable business and work to incorporate it in all areas of our operations – from our business processes to daily travel.

We measure our business’ carbon footprint and offset it by planting trees (we’re zero carbon certified for our business processes by Ekos for 2022 and 2023).

Sustainable office life

Both our offices work to be almost paper free and we pay attention to recycle, re-use and reduce.

We have a ‘no single use take away coffee cups allowed’ policy in our offices, and encourage our team to make use of the Reusabowls and recycle right.

Sustainable gifting

We take care to minimise our environmental footprint with our corporate gifting and merchandise.

Our gifts and Younity collateral is sustainably sourced and where possible, we support local suppliers, working with organisations such as We Love Local to support local, sustainable businesses.

'Sustainability Through Technology' CIO Awards

From 2020 to 2023 Younity was a proud sponsor of the ‘Sustainability Through Technology’ category at the prestigious NZ CIO Awards.

These Awards honoured businesses and organisations that showed leadership in leveraging technology to achieve tangible and sustainable outcomes.

Entries could address one, or all three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic (planet, people, and profitability).
