Younity continues to add talent to their Auckland based consulting team, recently hiring Kelly Cappel as a Candidate Resourcing Specialist to work alongside our technology & digital technical delivery team.
Kelly has been involved in the recruitment industry for 5 years, starting out in administrative and support roles, before moving into talent management and sourcing specialist roles for several well known technology recruitment agencies New Zealand. She joins Younity after a short contract assignment in an internal role, following on from maternity leave after her first child was born.
Here’s more about Kelly in her own words…
When did you start your recruitment career?
“Like many people I know, I fell into recruitment when I realised I enjoyed being around the fast-paced agency buzz, especially when I was watching my colleagues while working in an admin role for one of my prior employers. Recruitment wasn’t something I planned to do as a career, but it came fairly naturally when I was given the opportunity. The chance to meet all sorts of people and to assist them in finding their next role, something they love, is awesome!“
Describe your role at Younity – What do you specialise in?
“I’m here to source and attract candidates and contractors for our open jobs, be they contract or permanent roles, and to help, assist, support and coach technology professionals through their recruitment journey. I work proactively with candidates in their search for their next role, providing them with market insights or advice. We work on a variety technology, digital or business transformation roles and I am sourcing people across a broad range of technical or delivery job types”
What do you love about your job?
“I love talking to and meeting people from all walks of life! I especially like the feeling of making an impact by matching a candidate to a role they will love, and of course calling a candidate to tell them they did get the job! Hearing how happy people are when all the boxes for them are ticked is rewarding! But it’s not just about those you place – sometimes you know you’ve made a difference to those that don’t get the job by offering interview or CV advice, or helping to better preparing them to get the one that is just around the corner. That’s just as rewarding.”
What do you do outside of work?
“Outside of work is always for quality time spent with family and friends. It is full on into mum mode after work with my 1.5 year old son Cairo and I wouldn’t have it any other way! You quickly forget the “pre-mum” days!“
